Blurred Image??

The Nawabs suffered a huge setback today when their star performer and in form batsmen Animesh Bisht left for Australia to attend commitments there. The team seems to have been quite jolted by the news. Animesh has played a very important role in the progress of the Nawabs to the finals. There looms a possibility now that the team may have to play without him, in case the match takes place this Sunday. In the meantime the Captain of the team VD has discussed this matter with the organising committee, which seems to have an indifferent attitude towards the issue. Apart from this the team has been hit by injuries which always brings forth the probability of not being able to field a 11 member team, in the event the organising committee wants to deprive all the commoners the chance of witnessing great cricket, and organises the match this Sunday.

The Nawabs request all it supporters and other commoners to be there with them during this crisis situation. The Nawabs hope for the sake of the game, the organising committee would hold the match next to next Sunday and thus not depriving the supporters and other commoners a great game of cricket.

Promises Kept...

They played, they taught and the rest as you know is history....

The Northern Nawabs stormed into the finals beating the Big Down South Boys comprehensively. The South Boys were under pressure from the very first ball, when their opener got out, but as luck would be, it was of of no-ball. But this did not effect the spirits of the Nawabs as they got him in the very next ball. The rest of the team hey kept losing their wickets at regular intervals and failed to strike a good partnership. The Boys were also not helped by the on field injury caused to one of their star batsmen, Rahul Varghese. Though a spirited performance by injured man - Dore, raised some hopes for the Boys from South but it proved to be more of a flash in the pan. The Nawab bowlers again exhibited some excellent bowling performance bowling excellent line and length and taking wickets regularly. The Big Down South Boy got restricted to a score of 71.

The target seemed to be quite easy for the Nawabs but they lost the prize wicket of Adit Pujari in the second over, thus putting a bit of pressure on Abhyuday. But the hero from the Nawab's first match, Animesh and Abhyuday steadied the innings and scored in a brisk pace. Abhuday seemed to be in a fine touch and hit fours and sixes, thus never letting the run rate to climb up. With 5 runs to win, the Nawabs lost 2 quick wickets and one more wicket with 1 run to win, which raised a few eyebrows. But Abhay, who after a long time came back among runs, hit a boundary and won the match for the team in style.

As Promised the Nawabs did not let down their supporters and other commoners. They not only exhibited great cricketing skills but again paved the way for the commoners to follow and play better cricket than they have been playing all this while.

The Nawabs having qualified to the finals will now face the Eastern Immortals, and would as always try to showcase an excellent game of cricket. They whole heatedly thank all their supporters ad other commoners and hope that they would be there to watch them play the Finals.

Hits and misses.

The Northern Nawabs started the tournament on a positive foot. In their match against Western Warriors, the Nawabs showcased some extraordinary cricketing talent. The Warriors decided to bat first after winning the toss on what seemed to be a good wicket to bat. Though the first over saw the Nawabs conceding many extras in form of wides, but a exemplary bowling performance by Wangchen(3 wickets, 1 maiden) helped the Nawabs to restrict the Warriors to a small but defendable score of 84. Though the Nawabs had a slow start, they did not lose any wickets which created a good platform for the middle order to come and play their natural game. A blazing innings was played by Animesh(an innings of 50. studded with sixes and fours), which helped the Nawabs win the Match by 7 wickets in hand and six balls to spare, and thereby qualifying to the semifinals. The Warriors who showed quite low level of cricket left the Nawabs appalled.

In the other match against the Eastern Immortals, the Nawabs realised the undercurrents that were flowing amongst the commoners and decided to let the Immortals win the match easily. The Nawabs experimented as they wanted to give their players a good match practice. The tired Nawab side scored a total of 44, which seemed low but yet the Nawabs did not want to leave the field without giving a fight. But the light and tiredness affected the Nawabs fielding as they dropped many catches and were very sorry about he fact that they set such bad example to the commoners who were there, to learn from the Nawabs. The Nawabs apologizes to all its supporters and other commoners for letting them down.

Tomorrow the Nawabs may be playing the Eastern Immortals again, and this time round they would give in their best and try to regain their supreme position. The Nawabs welcome all its supporters and other commoners to come and watch a great game of cricket.

Rains a Spoilsport??

Rain Rain Go Away.....thats what all the supporters of the Northern Nawabs were saying when rain played a spoilsport last Sunday. The commoners and the Western Warrior team members were also quite disheartened that they lost the chance not only to watch the Nawabs play but also learn a lot from them. Looking at this sorry state of affairs among the commoners the Nawabs have decided to give the Warriors one more chance to play against them and improve their level of play. The NPL organising committee has also agreed to this arrangement as even they do not want to lose a chance to watch the Nawabs play.

The Nawabs are also very eager to take the field after a long long time and sincerely pray that rains do not deprive the commoners of watching the Nawabs in action.

The Nawabs invite all its supporters and other commoners to come and witness a great game of cricket on this Saturday.
